Liwa

Liwa.  It's an oasis on the edge of the Empty Quarter, the vast expanse of desert between the UAE and KSA and it is so vast and uncharted that the borders are still basically undefined between the UAE, Oman, KSA and Yemen.  We traveled there with our good friend Frank and our cousin Alex.  We got there at night and took a cautious drive off into the desert to set up camp and watch the stars.  Meeting some other friends the following day, we explored the dunes and even Ethan and I were able to drive for the first time!  Frank even had me try to drive up a huge dune but I only got about a 5th of the way up before I had to learn how to back down it.  I totally want to go back there and experience again the amazing dunes, camels and fun times with good friends. - Grant
