Off-Road

This is why the UAE is so special.  You can literally drive anywhere you want and camp, and the places you can get to are still pretty wild.  The vast majority of off-roading in the UAE is on sand and gravel plains except up in RAK and on the border with Oman where the Hajar mountains start.  You can get to a lot of places with a normal (or saloon) car but to really get out there a 4x4 is a must.
