Surfing

I know!  Waves in Dubai?!?  Who would have expected that!  Dubai is a great place to learn surfing with waves knee high to over 6 feet (2 meters) and there is even an occasional barrel.  My brother and I learned how to surf in Dubai and after four years we have become pretty good.  During the 'winter' months, with 70-80 degree air (20s) and at least 70 degree water (22), the waves are more frequent with weekly-ish waves.  Check out Surf House for their updates, get on swellmap.com and look for Magicseaweed's links and you'll soon know when the waves will be arriving.  Of course, make sure to explore the entire coast on a surfari because there is surf in all the Emirates: Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, RAK and even Fujairah if the timing is right.  The fun, as always, is the search.  See you in the water!  - Grant
